A lot of brands talk about sustainability. They put a leaf in their logo, use the word "eco" in their tagline, and carry on exactly as before. We're not interested in that kind of performance.

At SmartRivo, we're at an early stage of our sustainability journey — and we're going to be honest about that. What we can tell you is what we're actually doing, what we're working toward, and why we think it matters that you know.

📦 Packaging

We've reduced unnecessary packaging layers and moved toward materials that can be recycled or composted where possible.

🌱 Sourcing

We ask suppliers about their labor practices, materials origin, and waste policies before forming any partnership.

♻️ Returns

Returned items are assessed and restocked where possible — we minimize waste rather than defaulting to disposal.

🤝 Community

A portion of every order contributes to our commitment to community — more details coming as we grow.

Why we're talking about this publicly

Transparency is uncomfortable when you're not perfect. But we believe that honest accountability — saying "here's where we are and here's where we're going" — is worth more than a polished sustainability page that obscures more than it reveals.

Where we're headed

We're actively working on several areas as the store grows. Here's what's in progress:

We're reviewing every element of our packaging to identify where we can reduce material use or switch to more sustainable alternatives.

Supplier code of conduct

We are developing a formal supplier standards document that will govern all future partnerships on environmental and ethical grounds.

Carbon-offset shipping pilot

We're exploring options to offset shipping emissions and plan to offer this as a default — not an opt-in — for our customers.

We plan to publish a yearly report on where we stand — what improved, what didn't, and what we're committing to next.
